Proudly celebrating over 80 years of quality, service, and customer satisfaction, Zyloware Corporation was founded in 1923 by Joseph Shyer. When Zyloware opened its doors, it was surrounded by the potato fields of Long Island City, New York. Even after several expansions, and evolving into the global supplier it is today, Zyloware remains headquartered one block from its original location, just across the East River from the Manhattan skyline.

Known as an optical innovator, Zyloware leads the industry with original product development and branding initiatives. Perhaps Zyloware's most widely recognized innovation was the development of the Invincible in 1964. The first frame made out of Nylon, and the industry's most successful ever Nylon frame sold in the United States, the Invincible has sold over 20 million frames. Zyloware is also credited with several industry "firsts." Zyloware launched the first American designer eyewear brand-Gloria Vanderbilt Eyewear - in 1976. Zyloware launched the first eyewear collection named for a celebrity - Sophia Loren Eyewear - in 1980. Then, in 1982, Zyloware launched its award-winning Stetson Eyewear collection and the line became widely recognized as the first American eyewear brand for men.

Since then, Zyloware has successfully expanded its brand portfolio with the Sperry Top-Sider, Stride Rite, and prestigious Via Spiga Occhiali collections, offering eyewear for nearly every consumer. Last year, Zyloware launched its first house brand in over 30 years: Invincilites by Zyloware (named for the fabled Invincible frame). Most recently, Zyloware successfully launched a collection of men?s eyewear in collaboration with the famed makers of quality products at John Deere.

Today Zyloware is 15 years into its third generation of family management, and remains an independent, privately held company-the oldest, family-owned optical frame supplier in the United States. Carefully adding well-known brands and exciting products, Zyloware has grown over 30% in the last five years alone. The company has increased the scope and size of its sales force and has brought all marketing management in-house. The in-house design and quality control teams continue to broaden their functions. The company continually receives awards for frame quality and design, marketing, and customer service.
